After a defensive mix-up in Sputnik VII's zone, Edward Fiott stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Toivo Puistola came out of the goal and Edward Fiott tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carl Musumeci hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Carl Musumeci kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. If Paul Laudi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. Gilbert Curmi made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Tufignio in the 34th minute. Toivo Puistola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Liam Cassar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40thth minute of the game Edward Fiott who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sputnik VII's Toivo Puistola was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Toivo Puistola stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liam Cassar's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Paul Laudi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Les diables de Chamonix's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paul Laudi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Les diables de Chamonix's goalkeeper Gilbert Curmi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nathan Bongailas. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Stafrace in the 53rd minute of play forced Les diables de Chamonix's goalkeeper Gilbert Curmi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul Laudi's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, Toivo Puistola skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 57 minutes, Paul Laudi made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Sputnik VII's Toivo Puistola tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 60th match minute, Les diables de Chamonix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Sciberras Trigona to maneuver through the defense. Nathan Bongailas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Gilbert Curmi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Les diables de Chamonix's goal looked a bit too open when Nathan Bongailas came free, but Gilbert Curmi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sputnik VII's Toivo Puistola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paul Laudi in the 76th minute of play. Liam Cassar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sputnik VII's Toivo Puistola proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Sputnik VII from getting a goal against them. 80 minutes into the match, Sputnik VII's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Laudi came free, but Toivo Puistola reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paul Laudi had several of the Sputnik VII's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 82 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Toivo Puistola as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 86th match minute, Sputnik VII was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by John Tufignio to maneuver through the defense. Liam Cassar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Liam Cassar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Toivo Puistola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Sputnik VII's Thomas Montalto got a free kick in the 91st minute. Gilbert Curmi came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sputnik VII's Nathan Bongailas. But to his dismay, Nathan Bongailas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. When the match was over Les diables de Chamonix could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sputnik VII throughout the match.
