The Kalkara Utd fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. John Cassar stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kevin Sammut's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. Nick Alessandro hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, MEPA FC's Frederick Polidano got a free kick in the 20th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Jurgen Cassar managed to get in a good position for a shot. MEPA FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jurgen Cassar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mark Carabott breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jordan Zampa came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the MEPA FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jordan Zampa couldn't finish the play. Mark Carabott made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Jordan Zampa sent off a good shot on target. Kalkara Utd's Mark Carabott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Kalkara Utd from getting a goal against them. The MEPA FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Kalkara Utd were winning 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adrian Grech Cumbo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Marc Bigeni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 62 minutes into the match, Kalkara Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Jordan Zampa came free, but Mark Carabott reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jurgen Cassar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Mark Carabott tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 66 minutes in the game, Adrian Grech Cumbo fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without John Cassar having to interfere. Jordan Zampa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mark Carabott having to interfere. In the 71st minute Jurgen Cassar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mark Carabott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nick Alessandro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kevin Sammut fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Cassar having to interfere. Adrian Grech Cumbo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Cassar having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in MEPA FC's zone, Kevin Sammut stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John Cassar came out of the goal and Kevin Sammut tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adrian Grech Cumbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Kalkara Utd had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
