Spectators: 8039 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1939, VIP seats: 100) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Harry Bellizzi kicked off to start the match. Owen Cumbo's late challenge caught a Gzira United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Owen Cumbo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 2nd match minute, Ajajax Brazorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Owen Cumbo to maneuver through the defense. 3 minutes into the match, Ajajax Brazorf's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Van Huytvenne came free, but Gilbert Sapienza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilbert Sapienza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Van Huytvenne in the 6th minute of play. Tony Dougall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Bellizzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. After 7 played minutes Gzira United got a freekick which was hit by George Magro. Gzira United's Tony Dougall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Owen Cumbo in the 10th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Owen Cumbo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Tony Dougall was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tony Dougall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Bellizzi in the 17th minute of the match. Tony Dougall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Harry Bellizzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harry Bellizzi struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Tony Dougall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ajajax Brazorf. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Van Huytvenne in the 22nd minute of play forced Ajajax Brazorf's goalkeeper Gilbert Sapienza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudio Miggiani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Gilbert Sapienza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Ajajax Brazorf's Gilbert Sapienza got control of the ball when Marco Van Huytvenne tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 37th minute Marco Van Huytvenne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Sapienza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 43rd minute Harry Bellizzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Dougall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 44 minutes, Owen Cumbo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajajax Brazorf's supporters crossed their fingers, but Owen Cumbo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Owen Cumbo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Tony Dougall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marco Van Huytvenne to strike the kick off in the second half. Harry Bellizzi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Owen Cumbo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Richard Borg Barthet charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Richard Borg Barthet the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 56th minute, one of Ajajax Brazorf:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ajajax Brazorf. Gilbert Sapienza had in the 58thth minute some difficulties stopping Marco Van Huytvenne's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Marco Van Huytvenne scored 2-1 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gilbert Sapienza, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Claudio Miggiani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marco Van Huytvenne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudio Miggiani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Sapienza having to interfere. The supporters of Gzira United booed when Ajajax Brazorf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Bellizzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Claudio Miggiani in the 79th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Ajajax Brazorf's Richard Borg Barthet. Owen Cumbo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Tony Dougall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 85 played minutes Gzira United got a freekick which was hit by Daryl Quintano. In the 87th match minute, Ajajax Brazorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Cassola to maneuver through the defense. Tony Dougall showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harry Bellizzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. In the 96th match minute, Ajajax Brazorf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Richard Borg Barthet to maneuver through the defense. In the 100th minute of the match Gzira United got a corner. Ajajax Brazorf's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. George Magro ran over to the corner to take the kick.
