Gianluca Troisi's late challenge caught a Albert Town's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gianluca Troisi helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute, Gianluca Troisi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 15th minute, Gianluca Troisi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mewchamp united fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Jason Gafà made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cedric Fenech in the 18th minute. Cedric Fenech fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jason Gafà having to interfere. Gianluca Troisi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jason Gafà tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Albert Town's goal looked a bit too open when Gianluca Troisi came free, but Jason Gafà reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Nathaniel Cassola came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the Albert Town fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nathaniel Cassola couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Albert Town getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Nigel Ganado hit a great ball. Martin Trigona, 37 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Steve Scerri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nathaniel Cassola in the 44th minute of the match. Gianluca Troisi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jason Gafà came out and tried to block the shot, but Gianluca Troisi slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Jason Gafà came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mewchamp united's Gianluca Troisi. But to his dismay, Gianluca Troisi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. 58 minutes into the match, Mewchamp united's Cedric Fenech sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jason Gafà narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bernard Montebello charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Alessio Cremona didn't quite understand what happened when in the 77 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After having played for 81 minutes, Charlo Hamilton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albert Town's supporters crossed their fingers, but Charlo Hamilton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Mewchamp united booed when Albert Town was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nigel Ganado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mewchamp united were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Albert Town's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Martin Trigona took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Martin Trigona got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jason Gafà quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Gianluca Troisi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Steve Scerri made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nathaniel Cassola in the 94th minute. Tyrone Sammut Castelletti's late challenge caught a Albert Town's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tyrone Sammut Castelletti helped the player get up and apologised. For all the effort they put into the match, the Albert Town players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mewchamp united.
