Spectators: 6938 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1938, VIP seats: 0) Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Nigret's Amadeo Farrugia in the 6th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Roberto Calleja was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Murphy FC through an amazing save. Thomas Bongailas kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. In the 11th minute Thomas Bongailas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Mercieca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Mercieca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thomas Bongailas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Harry Galdes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Roberto Calleja made a huge save. Murphy FC's Ben Blanco got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Murphy FC's Roberto Calleja played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Galdes in the 21st minute of play. Francesco Stafrace kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Jake Apap hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Nigret defense, Ben Blanco kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thomas Mercieca. The Nigret fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomas Mercieca should have stopped the shot. Thomas Bongailas hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. After the first half Murphy FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ben Blanco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ben Blanco struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Thomas Mercieca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murphy FC. Ben Blanco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Mercieca having to interfere. Murphy FC's Bjorn Herrera quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gianluca Pulè, made in the 96th minute of the game. Murphy FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
