Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ivan Polidano started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Thomas Mercieca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ivan Polidano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Polidano in the 10th minute of play forced Nigret's goalkeeper Thomas Mercieca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in Nigret fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 12th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 14 minutes, Gunners's James Bezzina got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Thomas Mercieca. Carl Coppini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 18 played minutes Nigret got a freekick which was hit by Carl Pulis. If Carl Coppini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th match minute, Nigret was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gianluca Pulè to maneuver through the defense. After 30 minutes, Jurgen Decesare made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Nigret's Thomas Mercieca tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Coppini got free with Thomas Mercieca in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gunners's Ivan Polidano got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The wind increased when Amadeo Farrugia made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Ivan Polidano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Mercieca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Polidano in the 57th minute of play forced Nigret's goalkeeper Thomas Mercieca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Carl Coppini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, Nigret's goal looked a bit too open when Carl Coppini came free, but Thomas Mercieca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Carl Coppini ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomas Mercieca was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. If Ivan Polidano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Polidano in the 68th minute of play forced Nigret's goalkeeper Thomas Mercieca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute Ivan Polidano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thomas Mercieca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thomas Drago's late challenge caught a Nigret's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Thomas Drago helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Gunners's Thomas Drago got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Carl Coppini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Gunners's Ivan Polidano in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Nigret's goalie prevented a goal. A collision led to Nigret getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Carl Pulis hit a great ball. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Nigret's goalkeeper Thomas Mercieca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Jake Apap hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carl Coppini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thomas Mercieca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Coppini in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Gunners players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
