But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor De Fremeaux couldn't finish the play. George Flask kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Murphy FC's Mario Seracino managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Leonard Monreal in the 44 minute of the game. Thomas Bongailas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adrian Grech Cumbo was the one to do the kick off.
