The tension between the MEPA FC and the Balzan Youths players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 11 minutes, Marco Testaferrata Olivier mouthed his way into the referee's book. Marco Testaferrata Olivier hit a great ball. Karl Asciak took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised John Cassar. John Cassar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Balzan Youths's Stephan Depasquale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Balzan Youths from getting a goal against them. When Karl Asciak came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Balzan Youths fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Asciak couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in MEPA FC's zone, Ričards Tālums stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John Cassar came out of the goal and Ričards Tālums tried to chip the ball over his head. John Cassar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karl Asciak in the 38th minute of play. Louis Mula struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. John Cassar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Balzan Youths. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind MEPA FC's goalkeeper John Cassar, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Karl Asciak made a kick off. After 54 minutes of play, MEPA FC's Jordan Zampa made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stephan Depasquale was left in no man's land by his defense there! 65 minutes into the match, Balzan Youths's goal looked a bit too open when Jurgen Cassar came free, but Stephan Depasquale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Karl Asciak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in MEPA FC's zone, Ričards Tālums stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John Cassar came out of the goal and Ričards Tālums tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Jurgen Cassar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jordan Zampa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Stephan Depasquale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74thth minute of the game Jordan Zampa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Balzan Youths's Stephan Depasquale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 76th match minute, MEPA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Neville Fabri to maneuver through the defense. Stephan Depasquale didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when MEPA FC's Jurgen Cassar shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-1 in the ordered_time% minute. John Cassar was out of position in the 83 minute of play, and Ričards Tālums capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ričards Tālums really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Asciak in the 90th minute of play forced MEPA FC's goalkeeper John Cassar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl Asciak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Karl Asciaks short, quick shot in the 94thth minute got John Cassar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
