If Karl Asciak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gilbert Sapienza made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Ričards Tālums sent off a good shot on target. Balzan Youths's Ričards Tālums shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 7th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Gilbert Sapienza but with some difficulty. Karl Asciak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gilbert Sapienza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. In the 11th match minute, Balzan Youths was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Testaferrata Olivier to maneuver through the defense. Ričards Tālums fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Sapienza having to interfere. Karl Asciak recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Owen Cumbo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Karl Asciak who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 31stth minute tested the skills of Gilbert Sapienza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Karl Asciaks short, quick shot in the 35thth minute got Gilbert Sapienza to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 37th minute, Karl Asciak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Balzan Youths booed when Ajajax Brazorf was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gianluca Cordina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 56thth minute of the game Karl Asciak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ajajax Brazorf's Gilbert Sapienza was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Karl Asciak in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilbert Sapienza saved Ajajax Brazorf from getting behind. Noel Said fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilbert Sapienza having to interfere. In the 68th minute Ričards Tālums shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Sapienza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ajajax Brazorf's zone, Ričards Tālums stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gilbert Sapienza came out of the goal and Ričards Tālums tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Balzan Youths's Stephan Depasquale proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Balzan Youths from getting a goal against them. Ajajax Brazorf's Gilbert Sapienza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Asciak in the 77th minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Balzan Youths's goal looked a bit too open when Harry Bellizzi came free, but Stephan Depasquale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Asciak in the 91st minute of play forced Ajajax Brazorf's goalkeeper Gilbert Sapienza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute Karl Asciak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilbert Sapienza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ajajax Brazorf were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Balzan Youths's much stronger midfield.
