Kalkara Utd's Mark Carabott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Kalkara Utd from getting a goal against them. Kevin Sammut fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steve Scerri having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, Kalkara Utd's Kevin Sammut sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steve Scerri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cedric Fenechs short, quick shot in the 18thth minute got Mark Carabott to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 19th minute, Cedric Fenech got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Adrian Grech Cumbo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Keith Ghigo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mark Carabott. Kalkara Utd's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 60 minutes of play, Mewchamp united's Cedric Fenech made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mark Carabott was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alessio Cremona kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. 68 minutes into the match, Kalkara Utd's Kevin Sammut sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Steve Scerri narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mewchamp united's Steve Scerri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Grech Cumbo in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Adrian Grech Cumbo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kalkara Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adrian Grech Cumbo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 77 played minutes Kalkara Utd got a freekick which was hit by Marc Bigeni. When Gianluca Troisi came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Mewchamp united fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gianluca Troisi couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gianluca Troisi in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mark Carabott saved Kalkara Utd from getting behind. After 88 minutes, Nick Alessandro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kalkara Utd and the Mewchamp united players grew even worse after the yellow card. Steve Scerri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Grech Cumbo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Mewchamp united were victorious despite being under pressure from Kalkara Utd for much of the match.
