Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Yolo AFC's Peter Paul Busuttil started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yolo AFC's Frederick Cini got a good chance for a goal in the 4th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Yolo AFC's zone, Mike Rogerson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godwin Mumford came out of the goal and Mike Rogerson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th minute, Clinton Salomone hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bjorn Demicoli fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Yolo AFC's protests and gave Bjorn Demicoli a yellow card for diving instead. In the 14thth minute of the game Frederick Cini who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mtarfa's Julian Ciappara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julian Ciappara came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Yolo AFC's Peter Paul Busuttil. But to his dismay, Peter Paul Busuttil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Peter Paul Busuttil recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Yolo AFC's Frederick Cini got a free kick in the 22nd minute. If Frederick Cini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes Mtarfa got a freekick which was hit by Gilbert Anastasi. 27 minutes into the match, Mtarfa's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Paul Busuttil came free, but Julian Ciappara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christian Pace Bonello blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Godwin Mumford having to make a save. When Frederick Cini came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Yolo AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frederick Cini couldn't finish the play. 45 minutes into the match, Mtarfa's goal looked a bit too open when Frederick Cini came free, but Julian Ciappara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 46 minutes of play, Yolo AFC's Peter Paul Busuttil made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julian Ciappara was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Christian Pace Bonello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Yolo AFC's Peter Paul Busuttil in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mtarfa's goalie prevented a goal. Clinton Salomone hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Mtarfa's zone, Peter Paul Busuttil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julian Ciappara came out of the goal and Peter Paul Busuttil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 59 minutes, Charles Pace mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mtarfa and the Yolo AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 59th minute, Charles Pace hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frederick Cini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Julian Ciappara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute Peter Paul Busuttil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julian Ciappara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Peter Paul Busuttil notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Mtarfa's Julian Ciappara. Julian Ciappara was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Mike Rogerson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Christian Pace Bonello's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Godwin Mumford was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Charles Pace hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Peter Paul Busuttil sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Peter Paul Busuttil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Yolo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Paul Busuttil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julian Ciappara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match was over Yolo AFC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mtarfa throughout the match.
