An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Avellino in the 8th minute of play forced Msida's goalkeeper Ivan Carbonese to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivan Carbonese didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emanuel Avellino went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuel Avellino in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivan Carbonese saved Msida from getting behind. 17 minutes into the match, Victoria's Liu Yuan Cheng sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Carbonese narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ivan Carbonese took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Avellino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victoria's Tommy Cauchi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Victoria from getting a goal against them. When Stephan Blanco came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Victoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stephan Blanco couldn't finish the play. In the 26thth minute of the game Emanuel Avellino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Msida's Ivan Carbonese was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Andrè Lauri kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Emanuel Avellino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ivan Carbonese was relentless in the 28th minute of the game. After 29th play minutes Emanuel Avellino shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Ivan Carbonese and just under the crossbar into goal. Ivan Carbonese made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Ivan Carbonese showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Liu Yuan Cheng, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Emanuel Avellino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Victoria's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Avellino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Carbonese breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute, Fredrik Hylander got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Avellino to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Fredrik Hylander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Victoria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fredrik Hylander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 53 minutes into the game, Emanuel Avellino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Ivan Carbonese was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Emanuel Avellino did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Ivan Carbonese 60 minutes into the match. Ivan Carbonese was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Emanuel Avellino showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 64 minute of play. When the match had gone on for 67 minutes, Emanuel Avellino took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Ivan Carbonese to make any attempt to save it. Stephan Blanco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 78 minutes, Emanuel Avellino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Victoria's Emanuel Avellino slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ivan Carbonese. That made the score 0-9 after 85 minutes of play. When Emanuel Avellino came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Victoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Avellino couldn't finish the play. Ivan Carbonese was a little too slow when Emanuel Avellino got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 0-11. When the match was over Victoria could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Msida throughout the match.
