Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Bjorn Zammit took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 10th minute Severino Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sean Abos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Waylin Diacono hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sean Abos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Bueno in the 15th minute of the match. Zlatko Zahovič received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Sean Abos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th minute, Severino Bueno made a precise shot to the right of Sean Abos. Xgħajra Rangers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Severino Bueno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sean Abos having to make a save. Sean Abos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Severino Bueno in the 25th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Darren Carabott sped through Xgħajra Rangers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sean Abos. A collision led to Eleven Young Elephants getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Enzo Perez hit a great ball. After 32 played minutes Xgħajra Rangers got a freekick which was hit by Fabrizio Preca. Sean Abos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severino Bueno in the 33rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Bueno in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sean Abos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Darren Carabott scored 0-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sean Abos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 39thth minute of the game Severino Bueno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xgħajra Rangers's Sean Abos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 43rd minute, Severino Bueno ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sean Abos was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. 46 minutes into the match, Severino Bueno had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sean Abos. Xgħajra Rangers's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Bueno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severino Bueno was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Dennis Worley was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Xgħajra Rangers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eleven Young Elephants the free kick. Dennis Worley kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severino Bueno in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sean Abos saved Xgħajra Rangers from getting behind. After 57 minutes, Severino Bueno made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Xgħajra Rangers's Sean Abos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Xgħajra Rangers's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Zlatko Zahovič scored to the left of an out of position Sean Abos, making the score, 0-7. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Severino Bueno put it in 0-8 from a short distance just to the right of Sean Abos. Xgħajra Rangers's Sean Abos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Xgħajra Rangers from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Severino Bueno in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sean Abos saved Xgħajra Rangers from getting behind. In the 72ndth minute of the game Severino Bueno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xgħajra Rangers's Sean Abos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 80 played minutes Eleven Young Elephants got a freekick which was hit by Darren Carabott. Severino Buenos short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Sean Abos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, António Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eleven Young Elephants's supporters rose to their feet, but António Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sean Abos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 96th minute by Severino Bueno got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Eleven Young Elephants's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
