Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Christopher Ciantar made the kick off and thus started the match. Msida's Ivan Carbonese played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patrick Sammut in the 4th minute of play. After 6 minutes of play, Msida's Jacob Vella Bonavita made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Peter Paul Preca managed to get in a good position for a shot. Banter FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Peter Paul Preca was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Msida's zone, Peter Paul Testa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Carbonese came out of the goal and Peter Paul Testa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 41 minutes into the match, Msida's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Paul Preca came free, but Ivan Carbonese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Peter Paul Asciak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Msida players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Banter FC were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Peter Paul Preca to strike the kick off in the second half. Ryan Carren hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Paul Preca got free with Ivan Carbonese in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 72 minutes in the game, Peter Paul Preca dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Banter FC's Peter Paul Preca got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Msida's Ivan Carbonese played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clyde De Giovanni in the 78th minute of play.
