Spectators: 8680 (Terracing: 6500, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 180) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Sean Haber kicked off to start the match. After a defensive mix-up in Msida's zone, Sean Haber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Carbonese came out of the goal and Sean Haber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 10 played minutes Msida got a freekick which was hit by Andrè Lauri. 14 minutes into the match, Msida's goal looked a bit too open when Sean Haber came free, but Ivan Carbonese reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ad Astra's Gregory Scriha shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 18th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ivan Carbonese but with some difficulty. Sean Haber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sean Haber blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ivan Carbonese having to make a save. Sean Haber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Carbonese having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Sean Haber managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ad Astra's supporters rose to their feet, but Sean Haber was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivan Carbonese breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 28 minutes into the match, Ad Astra's goal looked a bit too open when Jacob Vella Bonavita came free, but Ryan Xiberras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Christopher Ciantar hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sean Haber in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivan Carbonese saved Msida from getting behind. Waylin Accaioli kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Waylin Accaioli hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. Ad Astra's Sean Haber got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Sean Haber came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Ad Astra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sean Haber couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Christopher Ciantar to make the kick off. Christopher Ciantar charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christopher Ciantar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 51st minute, Christopher Ciantar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Msida booed when Ad Astra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Roderick Scalpello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luke Attard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ivan Carbonese tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 played minutes Msida got a freekick which was hit by Eugenio Mallia Tabone. Sean Haber might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ivan Carbonese. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sean Haber ran back to his position shaking his head. If Sean Haber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sean Haber fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Carbonese having to interfere. Waylin Accaioli's late challenge caught a Ad Astra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Waylin Accaioli helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Msida getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Waylin Accaioli hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Luke Attard had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ivan Carbonese. Msida's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luke Attard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 93rd minute Sean Haber shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Carbonese saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ad Astra's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
