Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jonathan Scriha got the match started through his kick off. Jonathan Scriha's late challenge caught a Calderon Stars's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Scriha helped the player get up and apologised. Juan Duca didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kenneth Mugliett went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tommy Salerno in the 6th minute of play forced Gharb Rangers's goalkeeper Juan Duca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cumhur Onsal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Juan Duca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Calderon Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Scriha came free, but Neville Bajada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gharb Rangers's Juan Duca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tommy Salerno in the 11th minute of play. Juan Duca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Salerno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, Kenneth Mugliett made a precise shot to the right of Juan Duca. Gharb Rangers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Juan Duca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tommy Salerno in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Calderon Stars's Cumhur Onsal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Juan Duca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-6. In the 34th minute, Kenneth Mugliett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juan Duca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-7. Juan Duca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenneth Mugliett in the 40th minute of the match. Gharb Rangers's Juan Duca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gary Musu in the 42nd minute of play. Juan Duca came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Calderon Stars's Tommy Salerno. But to his dismay, Tommy Salerno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. 48 minutes into the game, Kenneth Mugliett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Juan Duca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Calderon Stars were leading 0-9. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
A collision led to Calderon Stars getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Joseph Montanaro hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Richard Cesareo put it in 0-11 from a short distance just to the right of Juan Duca. In the 62nd minute Kenneth Mugliett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Duca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 65 minutes Gharb Rangers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nicholas Laus who took care of the corner kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Tommy Salerno heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 66th minute Roberto Teuma Castelletti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neville Bajada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Cesareos short, quick shot in the 67thth minute got Juan Duca to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Gharb Rangers's Juan Duca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Gharb Rangers from getting a goal against them. Juan Duca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kenneth Mugliett in the 71st minute of play. Juan Duca came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Calderon Stars's Tommy Salerno. But to his dismay, Tommy Salerno quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-12. In the 75th minute Tommy Salerno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Duca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cumhur Onsal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 79th minute, Tommy Salerno left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Calderon Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-13. Gharb Rangers's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Kenneth Mugliett 84 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-14. 88 minutes into the match, Richard Cesareo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juan Duca, 0-15. The crowd rose to their feet as Kenneth Mugliett kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Juan Duca. That made the score 0-16 in the 92 minute of play. Calderon Stars's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
