Abdulvahit İlham had several of the Balzan Rainbows's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 11 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Bertrand Engerer as he didn't even see the shot coming. Abdulvahit İlham's late challenge caught a Balzan Rainbows's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Abdulvahit İlham helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Bianconeri getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Abdulvahit İlham hit a great ball. Balzan Rainbows's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Tommy Demanuele scored to the left of an out of position Bertrand Engerer, making the score, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neville Degiorgio in the 32nd minute of play forced Bianconeri's goalkeeper John Gulia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee showed Anton Hyzler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 47 minutes into the match, Balzan Rainbows's goal looked a bit too open when Abdulvahit İlham came free, but Bertrand Engerer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jason Francalanza made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Jason Francalanza's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bertrand Engerer was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. If Jason Francalanza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Neville Degiorgio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of John Gulia. The goal made the score 4-1. In the 81stth minute of the game Jason Francalanza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Balzan Rainbows's Bertrand Engerer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bertrand Engerer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Francalanza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abdulvahit İlham sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
