Sebastian Demicoli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernard Fiorentino in the 4th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Clint Testaferrata Viani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Naxxar Hotspurs's supporters rose to their feet, but Clint Testaferrata Viani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastian Demicoli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernard Fiorentino struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Sebastian Demicoli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Naxxar Hotspurs. 13 minutes into the match, Diamond Eyes's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Fiorentino came free, but Sebastian Demicoli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 17 minutes, Mattia Cacciottolo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Naxxar Hotspurs and the Diamond Eyes players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sebastian Demicoli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernard Fiorentino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Clint Testaferrata Viani's late challenge caught a Diamond Eyes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Clint Testaferrata Viani helped the player get up and apologised. Clint Testaferrata Viani hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. A collision led to Diamond Eyes getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Isaac Cutajar hit a great ball. Clint Testaferrata Viani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Sebastian Demicoli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Neil Musu fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diamond Eyes's protests and gave Neil Musu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th minute of the match Fiobian Mariani shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sebastian Demicoli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Sebastian Demicoli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clint Testaferrata Viani, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Miguel Mugliett got free with Jacob Engerer in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Naxxar Hotspurs's goalkeeper Jacob Engerer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Clint Testaferrata Viani stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Clint Testaferrata Vianis short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Sebastian Demicoli to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jacob Engerer came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Diamond Eyes's Chris Borg Xuereb. But to his dismay, Chris Borg Xuereb quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Borg Xuereb in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacob Engerer saved Naxxar Hotspurs from getting behind. Mattia Cacciottolo kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Etienne Allegritto hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Jacob Engerer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Mugliett in the 77th minute of the match. Jacob Engerer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antoine Bugelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute, Clint Testaferrata Viani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Naxxar Hotspurs's Jacob Engerer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chris Borg Xuereb in the 83rd minute of play. When Chris Borg Xuereb came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Diamond Eyes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Chris Borg Xuereb couldn't finish the play. Miguel Mugliett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Jacob Engerer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Diamond Eyes's Antoine Bugelli got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
