With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jake Montebello in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacob Engerer saved Naxxar Hotspurs from getting behind. Naxxar Hotspurs's Jacob Engerer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Naxxar Hotspurs from getting a goal against them. In the 11th minute, Bernard Fiorentino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Naxxar Hotspurs fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Jacob Engerer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jake Montebello in the 14th minute of play. Justin Micallef kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Jacob Engerer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jake Montebello in the 23rd minute. Jake Montebello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jacob Engerer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jacob Engerer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Nappa in the 35th minute of the match. When Jake Montebello came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Marsa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jake Montebello couldn't finish the play. Pierre Nappa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacob Engerer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matthew Carabott in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Jake Montebello in the 51st minute of play forced Naxxar Hotspurs's goalkeeper Jacob Engerer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Naxxar Hotspurs's goal looked a bit too open when Ben Lia came free, but Jacob Engerer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacob Engerer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jake Montebello's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. The supporters of Marsa FC booed when Naxxar Hotspurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mattia Cacciottolo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Marsa FC fans' excitement grew in the 59th match minute when Marsa FC's Jake Montebello looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jake Montebello in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacob Engerer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Naxxar Hotspurs's zone, Pierre Nappa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacob Engerer came out of the goal and Pierre Nappa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mattia Cacciottolo's late challenge caught a Marsa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mattia Cacciottolo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th match minute, Naxxar Hotspurs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mattia Cacciottolo to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jake Montebello in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacob Engerer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pierre Nappa struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Jacob Engerer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marsa FC. In the 75thth minute of the game Jake Montebello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Naxxar Hotspurs's Jacob Engerer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Marsa FC's Jake Montebello in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Pierre Nappa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacob Engerer having to interfere. Jacob Engerer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jake Montebello's shot from short distance in the 93rd minute. Jacob Engerer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ben Lia in the 94th minute of the match. In the 96th minute Matthew Carabott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacob Engerer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marsa FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
