Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Birguma's Luke Spagnol started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tim Dimech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luke Spagnol in the 4th minute of the match. A collision led to Birguma getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Julian Depares hit a great ball. Jake Montebello took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Rossignaud. David Rossignaud dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. With a little luck, Marsa FC's Tim Dimech got control of the ball when Calcedonio Abela tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 14th minute, Pierre Nappa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Rossignaud was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Bjorn Pace Bonello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. David Rossignaud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pierre Nappa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. The Marsa FC fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Marsa FC's Jake Montebello looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jake Montebello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Rossignaud having to interfere. Ben Lia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Rossignaud having to interfere. David Rossignaud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jake Montebello made a kick off. Luke Spagnol hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When Jake Montebello came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Marsa FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jake Montebello couldn't finish the play. Pierre Nappa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 59thth minute of the game Jake Montebello who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Birguma's David Rossignaud was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. David Rossignaud made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pierre Nappa in the 60th minute. If Owen Mifsud had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neil Gaffiero's late challenge caught a Marsa FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Neil Gaffiero helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Birguma's Neil Gaffiero got a free kick in the 65th minute. Jake Montebello who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of David Rossignaud when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jake Montebello did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-6 to the left of a surprised David Rossignaud 69 minutes into the match. Bjorn Pace Bonello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Rossignaud having to interfere. In the 78th match minute, Birguma was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Noel Seracino to maneuver through the defense. Ben Lia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jake Montebello in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of David Rossignaud, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Birguma's David Rossignaud proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Birguma from getting a goal against them. Jake Montebello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but David Rossignaud made a huge save. 91 minutes into the match, Marsa FC's Jake Montebello sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that David Rossignaud narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Birguma's zone, Owen Mifsud stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Rossignaud came out of the goal and Owen Mifsud tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match was over Marsa FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Birguma throughout the match.
