Jake Montebello started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Nicholas Quintano nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tim Dimech made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Marsa FC's zone, Peter Paul Dingli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Dimech came out of the goal and Peter Paul Dingli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tim Dimech came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Nicholas Quintano. But to his dismay, Nicholas Quintano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 15 minutes into the game, Owen Mifsud was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marsa FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave VALLETTA WHITE STARS the free kick. A collision led to Marsa FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Owen Mifsud hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Nicholas Quintano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tim Dimech was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Tim Dimech stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicholas Quintano's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Tim Dimech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from William Gummeson, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicholas Quintano in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tim Dimech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes into the match, Marsa FC's goal looked a bit too open when Peter Paul Dingli came free, but Tim Dimech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tim Dimech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter Paul Dingli in the 27th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Marsa FC defense, Nicholas Quintano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tim Dimech. The Marsa FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tim Dimech should have stopped the shot. Robert Carbonaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Leon Coleiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leon Coleiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jake Montebello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Matthew Carabott kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the game, VALLETTA WHITE STARS's William Gummeson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tim Dimech made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. After a defensive mix-up in Marsa FC's zone, Peter Paul Dingli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tim Dimech came out of the goal and Peter Paul Dingli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter Paul Dingli to make the kick off. Peter Paul Dingli sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nicholas Quintano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Tim Dimech made a huge save. VALLETTA WHITE STARS were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Marsa FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harry Gambin took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Marsa FC's goalie and right to Juan Borg. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Marsa FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. When Peter Paul Dingli in the 59th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Tim Dimech kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 0-6 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Peter Paul Dingli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tim Dimech having to interfere. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Nicholas Quintano sped through Marsa FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tim Dimech. In the 73rdth minute of the game Peter Paul Dingli who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Marsa FC's Tim Dimech was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 74th match minute, Marsa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierre Nappa to maneuver through the defense. After 75 played minutes, VALLETTA WHITE STARS's Harry Gambin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tim Dimech came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in VALLETTA WHITE STARS reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Peter Paul Dingli in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tim Dimech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pierre Nappa's late challenge caught a VALLETTA WHITE STARS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pierre Nappa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th match minute, Marsa FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pierre Nappa to maneuver through the defense. Tim Dimech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Paul Dingli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicholas Quintano succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-8 in the 92nd playminute.
