Bernard Amato Gauci helped the player get up and apologised. 8 minutes into the game, one of Norrlands Guld:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Naxxar Hotspurs's Jacob Engerer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario Bezzina in the 15th minute of play. If Mark Fenech Adami had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mark Fenech Adami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Jacob Engerer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everardo Pasqual made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernard Fiorentino in the 21st minute of play. Mario Bezzina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Jacob Engerer made a huge save. Jacob Engerer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Fenech Adami in the 38th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Bernard Fiorentino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Everardo Pasqual was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Jacob Engerer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mark Fenech Adami, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

After 51 minutes, Xandru Ciangura mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Naxxar Hotspurs and the Norrlands Guld players grew even worse after the yellow card. Xandru Ciangura hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After 52 played minutes, Norrlands Guld's Ethan Musu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jacob Engerer came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Norrlands Guld reached it. A collision led to Norrlands Guld getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Christopher Barbara hit a great ball. In the 54th minute, Fiobian Mariani sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Norrlands Guld's Everardo Pasqual didn't even have to move. Jacob Engerer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mark Fenech Adami's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Mark Fenech Adami sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Norrlands Guld's Mark Fenech Adami in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Naxxar Hotspurs's goalie prevented a goal. After 65 minutes of play, Norrlands Guld's Mark Fenech Adami made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jacob Engerer was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 68 played minutes Naxxar Hotspurs got a freekick which was hit by Fiobian Mariani. In the 70th match minute, Naxxar Hotspurs was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fiobian Mariani to maneuver through the defense. When Naxxar Hotspurs's Bernard Fiorentino in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Norrlands Guld's goalie prevented a goal. Mark Fenech Adami's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jacob Engerer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mark Fenech Adami in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacob Engerer saved Naxxar Hotspurs from getting behind. Norrlands Guld were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
