Siggiewi FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Naxxar Hotspurs the free kick. A collision led to Siggiewi FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Michele Formosa hit a great ball. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Siggiewi FC's goalkeeper Gianluca Stellini, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Naxxar Hotspurs's Bernard Fiorentino dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 25th minute, Clint Testaferrata Viani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mario Debono's late challenge caught a Naxxar Hotspurs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mario Debono helped the player get up and apologised. Mario Debono hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Naxxar Hotspurs's Bernard Fiorentino got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Adam Debono managed to get in a good position for a shot. Siggiewi FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Adam Debono was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
