Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Ħamrun's Jonathan Robinson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Mark Fenech Adami received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jason Cachia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th minute, Ħamrun's Jonathan Robinson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 19 minutes into the match, Mark Fenech Adami had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jason Cachia. Ħamrun's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mark Fenech Adami was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. David Sciortino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Jonathan Robinson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 31st match minute, Norrlands Guld was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chris Cremona to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Ħamrun booed when Norrlands Guld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chris Cremona didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mark Fenech Adami sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 37 played minutes Ħamrun got a freekick which was hit by Brandon Bonavita. Ħamrun's Jason Cachia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kiran Kalb in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Brandon Bonavita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Norrlands Guld's Adrian Abela Medici got a free kick in the 45th minute. A collision led to Ħamrun getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Jonathan Robinson hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ħamrun's zone, Mark Fenech Adami stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jason Cachia came out of the goal and Mark Fenech Adami tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mark Fenech Adami was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Norrlands Guld's Mario Bezzina nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jason Cachia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Francis Fsadni hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Ħamrun's Jason Cachia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Ħamrun from getting a goal against them. Jason Cachia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mark Fenech Adami in the 66th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Ħamrun's goalkeeper Jason Cachia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mario Bezzina. In the 73rd minute, Nathan Visanich hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Mario Bezzina's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 77thth minute, Jason Cachia skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Ħamrun's Francis Fsadni got a free kick in the 79th minute. With a little luck, Ħamrun's Jason Cachia got control of the ball when Mario Bezzina tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 91 played minutes Ħamrun got a freekick which was hit by Francis Fsadni . Jason Cachia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mark Fenech Adami in the 95th minute of the match.
