Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Maleth F.C.'s Frederick Pulè proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 2nd minute of the match, managed to save Maleth F.C. from getting a goal against them. Evan Lia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tyrone Tabone went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 18 played minutes Balzan got a freekick which was hit by Nathan Lauri. When Tyrone Tabone came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Maleth F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tyrone Tabone couldn't finish the play. Tyrone Tabone struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Evan Lia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maleth F.C.. If Jason Schembri Zerafa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 24 minutes into the game, Botond Petres cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Evan Lia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Evan Lia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabrizio Hamilton went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Balzan's Evan Lia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruhut Tutuarima in the 34th minute of play. Evan Lia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jason Schembri Zerafa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute Kurt Vella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederick Pulè saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 51st match minute, Maleth F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jason Schembri Zerafa to maneuver through the defense. Frederick Pulè showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Vella in the 52nd minute of the match. Evan Lia came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Maleth F.C.'s Nikolai De Marco. But to his dismay, Nikolai De Marco quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Frederick Pulè showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Vella in the 59th minute of the match. If Lawrence Failla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tyrone Tabone could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Evan Lia made a huge save. Evan Lia made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Fabrizio Hamilton sent off a good shot on target. In the 72nd minute, Botond Petres reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Evan Lia. The goal made the score 0-9. Evan Lia came out of the goal in the 78th minute to try and stop a shot by Maleth F.C.'s Fabrizio Hamilton. But to his dismay, Fabrizio Hamilton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. Evan Lia stood somewhat misplaced when Tyrone Tabone came free in front of goal and shot 0-11 to the left of him in the 81 minute. Balzan's Evan Lia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Balzan from getting a goal against them. Evan Lia didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabrizio Hamilton went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-14 was the resulting score. Maleth F.C. played a much better game than Balzan and deserved their victory. The Balzan players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
