Partington AFC's Johnny Bentley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pierre Braun in the 24th minute of play. Partington AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Lee Mumford had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abraham Wardell got free with Markus Peterhans in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Partington AFC's Mike Carragher got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Alwin Fux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Bentley having to interfere. When Buster Wagstaff fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Pierre Braun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Johnny Bentley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaron Otto's late challenge caught a Partington AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aaron Otto helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Brinklow United's Aaron Otto got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 68th minute Abraham Wardell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Markus Peterhans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abraham Wardell scored 1-2 in the 80th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Markus Peterhans, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pierre Braun recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alwin Fux sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Brinklow United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abraham Wardell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Markus Peterhans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abraham Wardell, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
