After 9 played minutes, Partington AFC's Ian Morley shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dion Wilhelm came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Partington AFC reached it. Johnny Bentley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pol Müller in the 14th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Ian Morley fired a really elegant long shot, but Dion Wilhelm threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tim Revell made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tim Revell in the 52nd minute of play forced Walford's goalkeeper Dion Wilhelm to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Walford's Charlie Schneider got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 60th minute, Christof Nowak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute, Abraham Wardell left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Partington AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. When Damon Winship fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Partington AFC's protests and gave Damon Winship a yellow card for diving instead. Walford's Dion Wilhelm played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tim Revell in the 85th minute of play. Jean Wipplinger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Johnny Bentley having to interfere. 91 minutes into the game, Pol Müller recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Johnny Bentley. Pol Müller showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Dion Wilhelm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tim Revell, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. Walford were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
