Seating: 1842, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bobby Haugwitz started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Kenny Brockhaus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newcastle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenny Brockhaus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christof Kirschbaum breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Hugo Thielemann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bobby Haugwitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Stan Goldstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Newcastle United getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Gaston Oberweis hit a great ball. In the 21st minute, Steffen Lück sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Newcastle United's Stan Goldstein didn't even have to move. Bobby Haugwitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Stan Goldstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Heiko Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Newcastle United's Gaston Oberweis tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newcastle United's goalkeeper Stan Goldstein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 35th minute, Alexander Favre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stan Goldstein showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bobby Haugwitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ancient Avnis City's zone, Kenny Brockhaus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Christof Kirschbaum came out of the goal and Kenny Brockhaus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 44 minutes, Bruno von Etzdorf mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newcastle United and the Ancient Avnis City players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Bruno von Etzdorf got a free kick in the 45th minute. Friedrich Heppenheimer succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 46th playminute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hugo Thielemann to strike the kick off in the second half. Bobby Haugwitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Stan Goldstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Newcastle United got a freekick which was hit by Franck Breitbarth. After a rather tough play, Newcastle United's Markus Trausch got a free kick in the 58th minute. Hugo Thielemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christof Kirschbaum having to interfere. Luka Baumstein charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luka Baumstein the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 67 minutes into the game, one of Ancient Avnis City:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Newcastle United's Stan Goldstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bobby Haugwitz in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newcastle United's goalkeeper Stan Goldstein, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 78 minutes, Alexander Favre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Newcastle United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexander Favre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Hugo Thielemann came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Newcastle United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hugo Thielemann couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Elmar Bronstein got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 94 minutes into the match, Ancient Avnis City's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Thielemann came free, but Christof Kirschbaum reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Many of Newcastle United's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Newcastle United may have spent more time on the ball, but Ancient Avnis City were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
