The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Daniel de la Fontaine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute of the match Kenny Balmer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Adrian Guttenberg skillfully saved the ball. Nicolas Helminger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 15 minutes, Ludwig Hantzsch managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Royal Nassau FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ludwig Hantzsch was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. George Fürstenberg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Daniel de la Fontaine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 18th match minute, Royal Lëtzebuerg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruben Otto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Fürstenberg in the 20th minute of play forced Royal Lëtzebuerg's goalkeeper Daniel de la Fontaine to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 33rd minute by Nicolas Helminger got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 35th minute, Kurt St. Pierre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adrian Guttenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kurt St. Pierre in the 37th minute of play. Adrian Guttenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Altschuler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicolas Helminger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kurt St. Pierre to make the kick off. Nicolas Helminger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Guttenberg having to interfere. After 59 played minutes Royal Nassau FC got a freekick which was hit by Andreas Bodenstein. A collision led to Royal Lëtzebuerg getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Nicolas Helminger hit a great ball. If Nicolas Helminger had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ludwig Diederich fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Royal Nassau FC's protests and gave Ludwig Diederich a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Royal Lëtzebuerg booed when Royal Nassau FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludwig Diederich didn't get a good kick on the ball. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Royal Nassau FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edward Auspitz was slow to take the kick. During this time Royal Lëtzebuerg's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Royal Lëtzebuerg's corner Edward Auspitz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Adrian Guttenberg quite easily take care of the ball. Adrian Guttenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt St. Pierre in the 76th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 79 minutes, Daniel de la Fontaine successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 83rd minute, Ludwig Hantzsch got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Royal Lëtzebuerg's zone, Ludwig Hantzsch stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniel de la Fontaine came out of the goal and Ludwig Hantzsch tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel de la Fontaine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Fürstenberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the game, Ludwig Hantzsch cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Daniel de la Fontaine was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Royal Nassau FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
