A very good chance. 25 minutes into the match, Friedrich Heppenheimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raphaël von Knyphausen. Harpenden's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Friedrich Heppenheimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Dietrich Thielemann fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ancient Avnis City's protests and gave Dietrich Thielemann a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Harpenden booed when Ancient Avnis City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dietrich Thielemann didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Axel Blumenthal took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Christof Kirschbaum to make any attempt to save it. In the 37th minute, Ancient Avnis City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Axel Blumenthal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Raphaël von Knyphausen, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When Andreas Opitz came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Harpenden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andreas Opitz couldn't finish the play. 74 minutes into the game, Axel Blumenthal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1.
