Seating: 1946, VIP seats: 169) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Andreas Opitz kicked off to start the match. Andreas Opitz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Goldstein having to interfere. Newcastle United's Stan Goldstein played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andreas Opitz in the 10th minute of play. When Axel Blumenthal came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Harpenden fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Blumenthal couldn't finish the play. Raphaël von Knyphausen came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Newcastle United's Kenny Brockhaus. But to his dismay, Kenny Brockhaus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Kenny Brockhaus blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Raphaël von Knyphausen having to make a save. Axel Blumenthal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Andreas Opitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Andreas Opitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Stan Goldstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Axel Blumenthal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Kenny Brockhaus made a precise shot to the right of Raphaël von Knyphausen. Harpenden's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. An unexpected shot in the 46th minute by Andreas Opitz got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
After a defensive mix-up in Harpenden's zone, Hugo Thielemann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raphaël von Knyphausen came out of the goal and Hugo Thielemann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 56 played minutes Harpenden got a freekick which was hit by Jean-Claude Imhoff. Axel Blumenthal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stan Goldstein having to interfere. Andreas Opitz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Stan Goldstein tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hugo Thielemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raphaël von Knyphausen having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Markus Trausch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the match, Axel Blumenthal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stan Goldstein. Newcastle United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Blumenthal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Raphaël von Knyphausen didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 74th minute, which inside left pole to 1-3. Hugo Thielemann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raphaël von Knyphausen having to interfere. Newcastle United's Kenny Brockhaus got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raphaël von Knyphausen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Thielemann in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Kenny Brockhaus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newcastle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Kenny Brockhaus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raphaël von Knyphausen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With 88 minutes on the clock, Henry Glück commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 87 minutes into the game, one of Harpenden:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Hugo Thielemann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Raphaël von Knyphausen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
