Spectators: 6953 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1953, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sid Flintoff got the match started through his kick off. After having played for 8 minutes, Rod Chivers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Englefield Green's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rod Chivers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sid Flintoff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Fürstenberg having to interfere. 10 minutes into the game, Rod Chivers cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Rupert Fürstenberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. CJ Barr kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute of the match Don Braithwaite shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rupert Fürstenberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sid Flintoff in the 19th minute of play forced Fussballclub Diekirch's goalkeeper Rupert Fürstenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sid Flintoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rupert Fürstenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sid Flintoff might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rupert Fürstenberg. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sid Flintoff ran back to his position shaking his head. 37 minutes into the game, one of Fussballclub Diekirch:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 39 minutes, Englefield Green's Sebastian Appleton got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rupert Fürstenberg. 44 minutes into the match, Fussballclub Diekirch's goal looked a bit too open when Sid Flintoff came free, but Rupert Fürstenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Sid Flintoff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tom Köhler to make the kick off. Wilhelm Drachmann struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Ronnie Holdsworth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fussballclub Diekirch. 53 minutes into the match, Englefield Green's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Köhler came free, but Ronnie Holdsworth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronnie Holdsworth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Köhler, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Don Braithwaite kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 61st minute, Tom Köhler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wilhelm Drachmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Fussballclub Diekirch getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Jonas von Waldersee hit a great ball. Rupert Fürstenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Flintoff in the 70th minute of the match. Wilhelm Drachmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Ronnie Holdsworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fussballclub Diekirch's Rupert Fürstenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sid Flintoff in the 80th minute of play. Sid Flintoff took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rupert Fürstenberg. Rupert Fürstenberg dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Rupert Fürstenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sid Flintoff, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee ended the match the Englefield Green players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
