The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Franz Prüm during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Franz Prüm hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Rupert Fürstenberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Friedrich Pflaumenbaum in the 8th minute of play. Aquiles Tino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Rupert Fürstenberg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilhelm Drachmann got free with Jasper Holz in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Friedrich Pflaumenbaum struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Rupert Fürstenberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for UNITED. The long shot by Ralf Holz in the 23rd minute really tested Jasper Holz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Jasper Holz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilhelm Drachmann in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Billy Bodmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. UNITED's supporters rose to their feet, but Billy Bodmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rupert Fürstenberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rupert Fürstenberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Friedrich Pflaumenbaum, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Friedrich Pflaumenbaum fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rupert Fürstenberg having to interfere. 39 minutes into the match, UNITED's Friedrich Pflaumenbaum sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rupert Fürstenberg narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Patrick Baum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Patrick Baum hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Victor Belmiro from long distance, 63 minutes into the match, got Rupert Fürstenberg's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After recieving a nice pass, UNITED's Pedro Horado tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. UNITED's Friedrich Pflaumenbaum got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. UNITED's Billy Bodmer got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aquiles Tino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 73 played minutes Fussballclub Diekirch got a freekick which was hit by Jonas von Waldersee. After recieving a nice pass, UNITED's Pedro Horado tried to score from far away in the 74th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Victor Belmiro hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Friedrich Pflaumenbaum recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the match, Friedrich Pflaumenbaum had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rupert Fürstenberg. Fussballclub Diekirch's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Friedrich Pflaumenbaum was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 89th minute, Wilhelm Drachmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jasper Holz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Jasper Holz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilhelm Drachmann in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Friedrich Pflaumenbaum got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 97 minutes, Friedrich Pflaumenbaum took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Rupert Fürstenberg to make any attempt to save it. When the match was over UNITED could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Fussballclub Diekirch throughout the match.
