The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Claude Haugwitz fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Thetford AFC's protests and gave Claude Haugwitz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Thetford AFC's Claude Haugwitz got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Julian Kupferblum hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. In the 17th minute, Bob Hahnemann sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Next generation football's Christian Hantzsch didn't even have to move. Christian Hantzsch was out of position in the 22 minute of play, and Claude Haugwitz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Claude Haugwitz really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After having played for 25 minutes, Claude Haugwitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thetford AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claude Haugwitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 29th minute of the match, Moritz Knochenmus tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Christian Hantzsch saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When Frankie Beermann came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Next generation football fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frankie Beermann couldn't finish the play. Edmund von Ancken fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Wipplinger having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Thetford AFC's zone, Edmund von Ancken stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patrick Wipplinger came out of the goal and Edmund von Ancken tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 37th minute, Claude Haugwitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute, Samuel Hummel sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Thetford AFC's Patrick Wipplinger didn't even have to move. In the 40th minute Edmund von Ancken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Wipplinger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Hantzsch made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Moritz Knochenmus sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 43 minutes, Frankie Beermann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Next generation football's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frankie Beermann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edmund von Ancken's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Patrick Wipplinger read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moritz Knochenmus to make the kick off. Francesco Hundhammer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Christian Hantzsch having to interfere. In the 68th match minute, Thetford AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francesco Hundhammer to maneuver through the defense. Edmund von Ancken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Patrick Wipplinger made a huge save. If Edmund von Ancken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesco Hundhammer in the 75th minute of play forced Next generation football's goalkeeper Christian Hantzsch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christian Hantzsch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francesco Hundhammer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Claude Haugwitz was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. The supporters of Next generation football booed when Thetford AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claude Haugwitz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Edmund von Ancken scored 2-1 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patrick Wipplinger, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Next generation football players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Thetford AFC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
