A very good chance. 5 minutes into the match, Wilhelm Drachmann had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jean-Claude Hahnemann. Pandalists F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wilhelm Drachmann was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Rupert Fürstenberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jupp Fabeck in the 9th minute of the match. Fussballclub Diekirch's Wilhelm Drachmann got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 16 minutes into the game, Tom Köhler recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jean-Claude Hahnemann. Tom Köhler showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. In the 19th match minute, Fussballclub Diekirch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tom Majerus to maneuver through the defense. If Tom Köhler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Pandalists F.C's Jean-Claude Hahnemann got control of the ball when Wilhelm Drachmann tried to sneak it across the goal line. With an all-out effort, Fussballclub Diekirch's Jean-Claude Hahnemann threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Tom Köhler, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a rather tough play, Pandalists F.C's Nick Fährmann got a free kick in the 26th minute. Wilhelm Drachmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Jean-Claude Hahnemann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Wilhelm Drachmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fussballclub Diekirch's Rupert Fürstenberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jupp Fabeck in the 32nd minute of play. In the 35th minute, Jupp Fabeck got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 38th minute Stéphane Sax shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rupert Fürstenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilhelm Drachmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jean-Claude Hahnemann having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Wilhelm Drachmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fussballclub Diekirch's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilhelm Drachmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jean-Claude Hahnemann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nick Peterhans's late challenge caught a Fussballclub Diekirch's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nick Peterhans helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Pandalists F.C:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Fussballclub Diekirch:s goal. Jean-Claude Hahnemann had in the 49thth minute some difficulties stopping Mark Fabricius's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stéphane Sax made a kick off. If Wilhelm Drachmann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 57 played minutes Pandalists F.C got a freekick which was hit by Charles Fröhlich. Mark Fabricius was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 58th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Köhler in the 61st minute of play forced Pandalists F.C's goalkeeper Jean-Claude Hahnemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Stéphane Sax was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 63rd minute. Pandalists F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 66 minutes into the match, Pandalists F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Wilhelm Drachmann came free, but Jean-Claude Hahnemann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Fussballclub Diekirch getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Jonas von Waldersee hit a great ball. In the 69th minute, Joseph Braunstein fired a really elegant long shot, but Rupert Fürstenberg threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Jupp Fabeck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Tom Köhler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fussballclub Diekirch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pandalists F.C the free kick. In the 72nd match minute, Fussballclub Diekirch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tom Köhler to maneuver through the defense. When Tom Majerus fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fussballclub Diekirch's protests and gave Tom Majerus a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Fussballclub Diekirch getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Tom Majerus hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Köhler in the 77th minute of play forced Pandalists F.C's goalkeeper Jean-Claude Hahnemann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tom Köhler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jean-Claude Hahnemann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. After some careless play in the Pandalists F.C defense, Tom Köhler kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jean-Claude Hahnemann. The Pandalists F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jean-Claude Hahnemann should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute of the match Lucien Bodenstein shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rupert Fürstenberg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stéphane Sax in the 96th minute of play forced Fussballclub Diekirch's goalkeeper Rupert Fürstenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 99 minutes into the game, Pandalists F.C's Stéphane Sax nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rupert Fürstenberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Fussballclub Diekirch had won after a very even match.
