Spectators: 6943 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1943, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Harry Beauchêne kicked off to start the match. When Robert Brandebourg came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the F.C. Shalke Overligger fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Robert Brandebourg couldn't finish the play. In the 8th minute Jon Bayne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raphaël Groben saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Yannick von Radowitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raphaël Groben took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kurt Hart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jon Bayne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Raphaël Groben was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. In the 16th minute, Jon Bayne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 18 minutes into the match, Fairfield's Sly Granger broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After 23 minutes of play, Fairfield's Jon Bayne made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raphaël Groben was left in no man's land by his defense there! Kurt Hart received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Raphaël Groben tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 29 minutes, Kurt Hart managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fairfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kurt Hart was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robert Brandebourg got free with Casey Lonsdale in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raphaël Groben showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Bayne, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The supporters of F.C. Shalke Overligger booed when Fairfield was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon Bayne didn't get a good kick on the ball. Harry Beauchêne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Casey Lonsdale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. F.C. Shalke Overligger's Harry Beauchêne got a good chance for a goal in the 49th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jon Bayne was the one to do the kick off. If Kurt Hart had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jon Bayne in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raphaël Groben saved F.C. Shalke Overligger from getting behind. In the 60th minute, F.C. Shalke Overligger's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kurt Hart fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When Chris Durrant fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fairfield's protests and gave Chris Durrant a yellow card for diving instead. Chris Durrant hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Stephen Cooper charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stephen Cooper the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Fairfield's Stephen Cooper got a free kick in the 77th minute. F.C. Shalke Overligger's Sammy Beauchêne couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 78th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Fairfield. In the 79th minute, Robert Brandebourg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Robert Brandebourg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casey Lonsdale having to interfere. A collision led to Fairfield getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Sly Granger hit a great ball. Kurt Hart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 94 minutes into the match, F.C. Shalke Overligger's goalkeeper Raphaël Groben had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kurt Hart. When the match was over Fairfield could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than F.C. Shalke Overligger throughout the match.
