Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) F.C. Shalke Overligger's Harry Beauchêne started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute of the match Florian Hopf sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raphaël Groben skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Brandebourg in the 8th minute of play forced Kerkezer AFC's goalkeeper Claude Reuter to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Heiko Bach fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raphaël Groben having to interfere. Harry Beauchêne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Claude Reuter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Kerkezer AFC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Robert Behm hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, F.C. Shalke Overligger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harry Beauchêne to maneuver through the defense. Harry Beauchêne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claude Reuter having to interfere. Heiko Bachs short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Raphaël Groben to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 28 played minutes F.C. Shalke Overligger got a freekick which was hit by Ernie von Axelson. Robert Brandebourg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralf Faas in the 33rd minute of play forced F.C. Shalke Overligger's goalkeeper Raphaël Groben to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raphaël Groben showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Faas, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After having played for 39 minutes, Robert Brandebourg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. F.C. Shalke Overligger's supporters crossed their fingers, but Robert Brandebourg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ralf Faas to make the kick off. Harry Beauchêne blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Claude Reuter having to make a save. Kerkezer AFC's Claude Reuter played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harry Beauchêne in the 58th minute of play. In the 59th minute Harry Beauchêne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Claude Reuter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the F.C. Shalke Overligger defense, Heiko Bach kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raphaël Groben. The F.C. Shalke Overligger fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raphaël Groben should have stopped the shot. Claude Reuter was a little too slow when Harry Beauchêne got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 2-1. Raphaël Groben made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Heiko Bach in the 78th minute of play. After 80 played minutes Kerkezer AFC got a freekick which was hit by Perry Klein. 85 minutes into the match, Robert Brandebourg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Claude Reuter. Kerkezer AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Robert Brandebourg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. In the 88th match minute, F.C. Shalke Overligger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernie von Axelson to maneuver through the defense. If Lutz Grünfeld had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
