Pol Bähr was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Noah Wagner managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fowey United's supporters rose to their feet, but Noah Wagner was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pol Bähr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 14 minutes into the game, Fowey United's Franz Herrmann nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pol Bähr made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Franz Herrmann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fowey United's supporters rose to their feet, but Franz Herrmann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pol Bähr breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th minute Noah Wagner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pol Bähr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Brugge KV's Pol Bähr played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franz Herrmann in the 26th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Franz Herrmann was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robert Finkelstein in the 59th minute of play forced Fowey United's goalkeeper Max Wipplinger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Pierre-Joseph Pflaumenbaum had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Max Wipplinger. Fowey United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pierre-Joseph Pflaumenbaum was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. The Fowey United supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Fowey United would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
