Jamie Millman took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 8th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Joseph Brötzmann. Çayeli Football Club's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Benjamin Brodmann kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Fred Mayfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonny Cheswick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Brötzmann having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Çayeli Football Club's zone, Fred Mayfield stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph Brötzmann came out of the goal and Fred Mayfield tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernhard Feldmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Vic Sewell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vic Sewell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hellmuth Simon, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. If Fred Mayfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 28 minutes, Gordon Holland managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Howden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gordon Holland was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonny Cheswick in the 30th minute of play forced Çayeli Football Club's goalkeeper Joseph Brötzmann to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 played minutes Howden got a freekick which was hit by Vincent May. Hellmuth Simon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Vic Sewell tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vincent May charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vincent May the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jonny Cheswick to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Fred Mayfield managed to get in a good position for a shot. Howden's supporters rose to their feet, but Fred Mayfield was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joseph Brötzmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vic Sewell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hellmuth Simon, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute of the match Mark Klein sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vic Sewell skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 62 minutes, Fred Mayfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Howden's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fred Mayfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Joseph Brötzmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonny Cheswick in the 64th minute of the match. Vic Sewell came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Çayeli Football Club's Hellmuth Simon. But to his dismay, Hellmuth Simon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 76th minute, Fred Mayfield got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute, Howden's Jonny Cheswick ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Joseph Brötzmann. Joseph Brötzmann yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After 83 played minutes, Çayeli Football Club's Christof Eberhardt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vic Sewell came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Çayeli Football Club reached it. Fred Mayfield could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Joseph Brötzmann made a huge save. Bernhard Feldmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 93 minutes of play, Çayeli Football Club's Bernhard Feldmann made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vic Sewell was left in no man's land by his defense there! Çayeli Football Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
