In the 8th match minute, Burgos United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adam Rheingold to maneuver through the defense. Fred Mayfield fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teddy Brodmann having to interfere. Fred Mayfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Teddy Brodmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonny Cheswick in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute Howden were awarded a corner. Reuben Hutchins went to the cornerflag to take it. Vic Sewell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Blumenthal, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. After having played for 27 minutes, Noah Pflaumenbaum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Burgos United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Noah Pflaumenbaum was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gordon Holland kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. After having played for 29 minutes, Noah Pflaumenbaum managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jonny Cheswick made the kick off in the second half. Vic Sewell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Blumenthal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Howden getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Vincent May hit a great ball. Jonny Cheswick struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Teddy Brodmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Howden. Jonny Cheswick was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 66th minute. Howden's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 75th minute Jerry Blumenthal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vic Sewell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Fred Mayfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vic Sewell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noah Pflaumenbaum, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Howden's goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Blumenthal came free, but Vic Sewell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Burgos United fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Howden were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
