In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A. Spora's goalkeeper Leo Schmitz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 14 played minutes Oswaldtwistle FC got a freekick which was hit by Simon Redoute. In the 14th minute of the match Karlheinz Weiss shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kenny Günzburg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Oswaldtwistle FC's Kenny Günzburg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernhard Hommel in the 24th minute of play. When Eddie Schleck came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Oswaldtwistle FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eddie Schleck couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Oswaldtwistle FC booed when C.A. Spora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Schiltz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eddie Schleck took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leo Schmitz. Leo Schmitz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Oswaldtwistle FC's zone, Bernhard Hommel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kenny Günzburg came out of the goal and Bernhard Hommel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernhard Hommel struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Kenny Günzburg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. Spora. Kenny Günzburg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernhard Hommel in the 41st minute of the match. In the 43rd minute of the match, Bernhard Hommel tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kenny Günzburg saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 44 minutes, Leo Nassau mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oswaldtwistle FC and the C.A. Spora players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Oswaldtwistle FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Nassau to maneuver through the defense. Andreas Fröhlich recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bernhard Hommel made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Eddie Schleck made a precise shot to the right of Leo Schmitz. C.A. Spora's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 61 minutes into the match, C.A. Spora's Karlheinz Weiss broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. After a rather tough play, Oswaldtwistle FC's Leo Nassau got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Karlheinz Weiss was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Leo Nassau was shown his second yellow card after 65 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of C.A. Spora booed when Oswaldtwistle FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leo Nassau didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th minute, Bernhard Hommel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The C.A. Spora fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. In the 74th minute there was a penalty for C.A. Spora. Karlheinz Weiss stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Kenny Günzburg. 2-2. When Eddie Schleck fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oswaldtwistle FC's protests and gave Eddie Schleck a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Oswaldtwistle FC getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Eddie Schleck hit a great ball. If Andreas Fröhlich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freddy Grünfeld kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After having played for 87 minutes, Andreas Fröhlich managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C.A. Spora's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andreas Fröhlich was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kenny Günzburg came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by C.A. Spora's Bernhard Hommel. But to his dismay, Bernhard Hommel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. In the 90th minute Andreas Fröhlich shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kenny Günzburg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eddie Schleck might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leo Schmitz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eddie Schleck ran back to his position shaking his head. Kenny Günzburg didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andreas Fröhlich went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Oswaldtwistle FC's Kenny Günzburg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernhard Hommel in the 98th minute of play. C.A. Spora's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
