After 21 minutes of play, New Cross's Donald Luxembourg made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silvester Müller was left in no man's land by his defense there! Noah Goldstein sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 28th minute Donald Luxembourg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvester Müller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nicolas Baumgartl hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Silvester Müller showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Theo Bäumler, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Donald Luxembourg managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Cross's supporters rose to their feet, but Donald Luxembourg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvester Müller breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eddie von Fürstenberg kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 40 minutes, Theo Bäumler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Cross's supporters crossed their fingers, but Theo Bäumler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 41st minute of the game. One of Esch‑sur‑Alzette:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of New Cross:s goal. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Noah Goldstein made a kick off. Noah Goldstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mick Albrecht having to interfere. If Donald Luxembourg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 59 minutes into the match, Esch‑sur‑Alzette's goal looked a bit too open when Donald Luxembourg came free, but Silvester Müller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvester Müller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudy Klingelmann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Theo Bäumler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Silvester Müller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noah Goldstein recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to New Cross getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Henry Drachmann hit a great ball. If Donald Luxembourg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Esch‑sur‑Alzette's Silvester Müller got control of the ball when Lutz Rabinger tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 89th match minute, New Cross was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henry Drachmann to maneuver through the defense. Silvester Müller took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donald Luxembourg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
