Edmund Kaiser took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perry Townson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Astley getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Kurt Weiss hit a great ball. Edmund Kaiser showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lloyd Searle in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walter Lavigne in the 29th minute of play forced Abbey Wood's goalkeeper Joe Dingle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Walter Lavigne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abbey Wood's Joe Dingle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Abbey Wood from getting a goal against them. Joe Dingle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Lavigne in the 34th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Walter Lavigne managed to get in a good position for a shot. Astley's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Lavigne was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joe Dingle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Perry Townson made a kick off. Lloyd Searle scored 0-3 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmund Kaiser, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Joe Dingle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frankie Bachlechner in the 55th minute of the match. In the 57th minute Walter Lavigne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Dingle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Walter Lavigne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Walter Lavigne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joe Dingle was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Astley's Edmund Kaiser played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perry Townson in the 97th minute of play.
