Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tristan Osswald kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernd Helminger in the 3rd minute of play forced Романенко's goalkeeper Donald Knochenmus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Willy Bruckert charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Willy Bruckert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 0-2 became the score in the 12th minute when Pol Kampf elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Tristan Osswald hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Charlie Rabinger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tristan Osswald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernd Helminger in the 24th minute of play forced Романенко's goalkeeper Donald Knochenmus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Félix von Axelson during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Luxembourg Youth Academy getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Félix von Axelson hit a great ball. In the 40th minute, Theo Auspitz made a precise shot to the right of Charlie Rabinger. Luxembourg Youth Academy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Bernd Helminger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donald Knochenmus having to interfere.

The supporters of Романенко booed when Luxembourg Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermann Beicht didn't get a good kick on the ball. Günther Wackernagel, 53 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Theo Auspitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Charlie Rabinger showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theo Auspitz in the 59th minute of the match. In the 64th minute, Willy Eckstein hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Luxembourg Youth Academy's Elmar Auspitz tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 69thth minute of the game Theo Auspitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Luxembourg Youth Academy's Charlie Rabinger was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Charlie Rabinger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tristan Osswald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Charlie Rabinger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Auspitz in the 73rd minute of play. When Theo Auspitz came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Романенко fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Theo Auspitz couldn't finish the play. Романенко's Theo Auspitz got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Charlie Rabinger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Theo Auspitz in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute, Bernd Helminger left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luxembourg Youth Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Luxembourg Youth Academy had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
