Lazlo Bodenheimer really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 23rd minute, Axel Hilgendorf made a precise shot to the right of Daniel Kiefer. Lynx FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After a rather tough play, Lynx FC's Francesco von Fürstenberg got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 28 played minutes Lynx FC got a freekick which was hit by Lazlo Bodenheimer. VfL Bochum's Linus Lück got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. VfL Bochum's Stéphane Dieschbourg got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lazlo Bodenheimer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 43rd minute of the match, but Jasper von Ancken made a huge save. After 46 minutes, Linus Lück made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Lynx FC's Daniel Kiefer tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Jasper von Ancken stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Perry Beicht's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. VfL Bochum's Jasper von Ancken played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perry Beicht in the 56th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, VfL Bochum's Linus Lück sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daniel Kiefer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute Franck Klepper shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jasper von Ancken saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee ignored Lynx FC's protests and gave Perry Beicht a yellow card for diving instead. In the 63rd match minute, Lynx FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perry Beicht to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Perry Beicht managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lynx FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Perry Beicht was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jasper von Ancken breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Linus Lück's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Kiefer was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Franz Baasch hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Linus Lück struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Daniel Kiefer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for VfL Bochum. Jasper von Ancken showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franck Klepper, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Linus Lück fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Kiefer having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Lazlo Haugwitz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. VfL Bochum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lazlo Haugwitz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Lynx FC's Franz Baasch got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 86 minutes into the match, Axel Hilgendorf had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Daniel Kiefer. Lynx FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Hilgendorf was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. Daniel Kiefer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Axel Hilgendorf in the 92nd minute. Daniel Kiefer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Linus Lück in the 93rd minute of the match. Franz Baasch hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Linus Lück could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Daniel Kiefer made a huge save. The Lynx FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. VfL Bochum were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
