Darius Nowak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Len Nightingale made a huge save. Daniel Hattendorf hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Waterlooville's Len Nightingale got control of the ball when Darius Nowak tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adrian Beermann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leon Leyburn in the 29th minute of the match. After 30 minutes, Nathan Bell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Waterlooville and the North Petherton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Waterlooville getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Nathan Bell hit a great ball. Waterlooville's Len Nightingale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frankie Weiss in the 31st minute of play. In the 34th minute North Petherton City were awarded a corner. Frankie Weiss went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Eddy Kieffer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Len Nightingale quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Jan Blumenthal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Len Nightingale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Leon Leyburn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Adrian Beermann made a huge save. In the 58th minute, Bradley Phippard reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Adrian Beermann. The goal made the score 0-1. Jan Blumenthal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Leon Leyburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adrian Beermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradley Phippard, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Len Nightingale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jan Blumenthal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Blumenthal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Len Nightingale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Blumenthal in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Len Nightingale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leon Leyburn got free with Adrian Beermann in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 90thth minute of the game Jan Blumenthal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Waterlooville's Len Nightingale was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adrian Beermann showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Hoskins, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute, Jan Blumenthal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Waterlooville were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over North Petherton City's much stronger midfield.
