An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Kirsch in the 7th minute of play forced RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's goalkeeper Philip Pröll to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 13 minutes of play, S.L.B.Diekirch's Oswald Majerus made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Philip Pröll was left in no man's land by his defense there! 21 minutes into the match, S.L.B.Diekirch's goal looked a bit too open when Silvester Auerswald came free, but Jacques Kühnhackl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's Georg Osswald slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jacques Kühnhackl. That made the score 1-4 after 22 minutes of play. The supporters of S.L.B.Diekirch booed when RedBoys Lëtzebuerg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franck Schlim didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswald Majerus in the 29th minute of play forced RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's goalkeeper Philip Pröll to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Denis Hoffmann ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Philip Pröll was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. Philip Pröll took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Kirsch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Denis Hoffmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Philip Pröll saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jacques Kühnhackl made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Jean-Claude von Ancken sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvester Auerswald in the 43rd minute of play forced S.L.B.Diekirch's goalkeeper Jacques Kühnhackl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th match minute, S.L.B.Diekirch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswald Majerus to maneuver through the defense. If Gerry Krier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jean-Claude von Ancken made a kick off. After 52 played minutes RedBoys Lëtzebuerg got a freekick which was hit by Gerry Krier. 58 minutes into the match, S.L.B.Diekirch's goal looked a bit too open when Jean-Claude von Ancken came free, but Jacques Kühnhackl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Oswald Majerus came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the S.L.B.Diekirch fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oswald Majerus couldn't finish the play. The supporters of S.L.B.Diekirch booed when RedBoys Lëtzebuerg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claude Weiß didn't get a good kick on the ball. Oswald Majerus got in the 64th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Philip Pröll handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. The supporters of S.L.B.Diekirch booed when RedBoys Lëtzebuerg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steffen von Arnim-Boitzenburg didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's Philip Pröll got control of the ball when Jonathan Kirsch tried to sneak it across the goal line. RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's Philip Pröll proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save RedBoys Lëtzebuerg from getting a goal against them. S.L.B.Diekirch's Jacques Kühnhackl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danny Wercollier in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvester Auerswald in the 74th minute of play forced S.L.B.Diekirch's goalkeeper Jacques Kühnhackl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Oswald Majerus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S.L.B.Diekirch's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave RedBoys Lëtzebuerg the free kick. In the 76th match minute, S.L.B.Diekirch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswald Majerus to maneuver through the defense. 77 minutes into the match, S.L.B.Diekirch's goal looked a bit too open when Silvester Auerswald came free, but Jacques Kühnhackl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacques Kühnhackl came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's Silvester Auerswald. But to his dismay, Silvester Auerswald quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. 84 minutes into the match, S.L.B.Diekirch's goal looked a bit too open when Georg Osswald came free, but Jacques Kühnhackl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerry Krier in the 85th minute of play forced S.L.B.Diekirch's goalkeeper Jacques Kühnhackl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 87th minute, Denis Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Philip Pröll showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Denis Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. The RedBoys Lëtzebuerg supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching S.L.B.Diekirch's performance. The match ended with a win for S.L.B.Diekirch.
