After 16 minutes, Etienne Risch mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Glossop and the FC Vaduz players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Glossop getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Etienne Risch hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Vaduz's René Jehle slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Andreas Mydla. That made the score 1-0 after 17 minutes of play. Philip Elkuch might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronny Eberle. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roland Rehak got free with Andreas Mydla in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alexander Eberle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 46th minute, Michele Stulz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. René Jehle was the one to do the kick off. After 52 played minutes Glossop got a freekick which was hit by Etienne Risch. Roland Rehak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andreas Mydla having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Roland Rehak managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Vaduz's supporters rose to their feet, but Roland Rehak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andreas Mydla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 64th minute, Roland Rehak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Rehak in the 71st minute of play forced Glossop's goalkeeper Andreas Mydla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ronny Eberle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Glossop walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
