Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Riccardo Fleck got the match started through his kick off. Riccardo Fleck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Liborius Mitter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Philip Todeschini during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 4th match minute, Burtonwood was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Todeschini to maneuver through the defense. Jacob Josef Goob took the ball and in the 8 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Liborius Mitter. Liborius Mitter dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 12th minute Jacob Josef Goob shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Liborius Mitter saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Burtonwood's goal looked a bit too open when Joe Roth came free, but Felix Matt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Liborius Mitter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacob Josef Goob's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Jacob Josef Goob scored 0-2 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Liborius Mitter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Liborius Mitter showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michael Weikl in the 28th minute of the match. Burtonwood's Jacob Josef Goob got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Riccardo Fleck's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Liborius Mitter read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Newton Abbot's zone, Jacob Josef Goob stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Liborius Mitter came out of the goal and Jacob Josef Goob tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Liborius Mitter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Riccardo Fleck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Burtonwood's Felix Matt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Burtonwood from getting a goal against them. After 43 played minutes Burtonwood got a freekick which was hit by Philip Todeschini. In the 43rd minute, Herbie Schifferli sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Burtonwood's Felix Matt didn't even have to move. After 46 played minutes, Burtonwood's Emil Ilic shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Liborius Mitter came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Burtonwood reached it. Jacob Josef Goob sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

In the 55th minute of the match, Riccardo Fleck tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Liborius Mitter saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Joe Roth scored 1-2 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Felix Matt, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 65 minutes into the match, Burtonwood's goal looked a bit too open when Renato Wollstadt came free, but Felix Matt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joe Roth in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felix Matt saved Burtonwood from getting behind. Jacob Josef Goob received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Liborius Mitter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th minute Michael Weikl suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. When Francis Bütler fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Newton Abbot's protests and gave Francis Bütler a yellow card for diving instead. Francis Bütler kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. The supporters of Newton Abbot booed when Burtonwood was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob Josef Goob didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Roth in the 85th minute of play forced Burtonwood's goalkeeper Felix Matt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Matt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam Lustenberger in the 87th minute of the match. Jerome Summermatter charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerome Summermatter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Newton Abbot's Jerome Summermatter got a free kick in the 88th minute. Jacob Josef Goob received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Liborius Mitter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jacob Josef Goob came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Burtonwood fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacob Josef Goob couldn't finish the play. The Newton Abbot supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Burtonwood's performance. The match ended with a win for Burtonwood.
