After 18 played minutes Kings Lynn got a freekick which was hit by Micha Hilti. Urbano Henseler's late challenge caught a Kings Lynn's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Urbano Henseler helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Urbano Henseler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Damian Casutt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Ellison Wasser tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias Kathan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Klaus Flury, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 30th match minute, Kings Lynn was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wendelin Fischer to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Brighton's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Alija came free, but Ellison Wasser reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 59 minutes, Andreas Schäpper mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kings Lynn and the Brighton players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Kings Lynn getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Andreas Schäpper hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacob Josef Fromm in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ellison Wasser prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ellison Wasser made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andreas Schäpper in the 66th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jacob Josef Fromm's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ellison Wasser was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. When Barnabas Gätter fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Brighton's protests and gave Barnabas Gätter a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Kings Lynn booed when Brighton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barnabas Gätter didn't get a good kick on the ball.
